All season long the pesky Pigeons pecked their way through matchups, and it all cumulated to a championship title! Manager Tucker states, 

“It’s been a thrilling experience and I’m grateful to be a part of this franchise’s first (and the league’s first) Peterborough Heritage Cup!

The boys battled hard right off the start of the season and have stuck to the game plan all season long. Time and time again we played a strong team game and whenever someone went down with an injury or received a suspension, two guys would step up in response. I could not be prouder of this team and the resiliency they’ve displayed.

I’d like to take a moment to thank the players, for being on the frontlines. I’d like to thank the fans for all of their support and contributions. I’d like to thank the PKFL commissioner for organizing a fantastic hockey league and for consistently providing weekly updates with enthusiasm; and I’d like to thank all the other Gms around the league for a competitive and fun season. 

No matter what happens in the future, we get to enjoy right now and that means celebrating THE FIRST EVER PETERBOROUGH HERITAGE CUP!! RAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!”

The Zamboni Baloney fought hard all series long, giving the Carrier Pigeons a run for their money. Ultimately in the end they fell short but it was a battle EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! Manager Nie speaks to the message in the locker room following the loss, stating,

“Yeah it’s was a hard fought battle right to the last night. I want to give props to Cardinal Carrier Pigeons who have been outstanding all season, congratulations. We pushed hard until the very end. Our team battled some injuries and set backs, but we left it all on the ice. In the locker room last night the message was pretty simple: this is a dang good team. We made it to the championship round in our inaugural season, stayed healthy most the year, and never gave up when things where shaky. We earned our spot in this final and the sting of losing is going to fuel this team for next year. Over the offseason, we'll work hard to make this team even better. We already have a strong core built around Leon Draisaitl and Moritz Seider, two elite pieces to build around for the long haul. We'll put more emphasis on our draft strategy this upcoming year so we don't have to give up valuable assets just to strengthen the roster mid-season. Cheers to a great inaugural season, everyone. Zamboni Baloney is just getting started!

Thank you all for such an incredible season! Your commitment to keeping this league competitive all year round made it truly the best fantasy league I have ever been in!
